Bentley Tycoon finally broke his maiden status in impressive fashion in the 1200m maiden at Kyneton yesterday.
Despite drawing awkwardly in gate 8 combined with the fact that the trip is well short of his ideal distance, Mark Pegus rode the race to perfection. Shortly after jumping, Mark allowed the gelding settle nicely near the rear and then clicked him up nearing the 600m mark and although he was still 3rd last rounding the home turn for the short dash in, he took a split then powered home out wide to get up on the line.
The most pleasing aspect of his win was how strongly he finished the race off and the confidence that he should gain from the victory. A special thank you must go to his very patient and understanding owners who will now hopefully start to reap the rewards for their loyalty and we hope that you get to have a lot of fun with him in the coming months.
